The Most Beautiful Girl In The World!

The average bride has been dreaming of her wedding day since childhood. From the time she first sees the Disney movie, Cinderella, she begins planning her princess-like wedding. She's buying magazines of starlets wearing gowns and tiaras, all the while fantasizing herself wearing them. Magazines of hairdos and make-up, earrings to shoes; everything and anything that has to do with planning a wedding draws her attention. Why?

Because she is the average woman, making an average income and living an average lifestyle.
So when her day comes, she wants to sparkle and be extravagant as she can be. She want to stand out from the crowd and feel special even if it's for one day, it's worth it.

Many photography businesses offer Ambassadorships to qualifying seniors. This year I am too. The position of Senior Rep. is twofold in nature. It helps the interested senior earn great savings and get freebies on a live photo shoot done on location, and secondly, it bring more awareness to my business.

Rep's are volunteers and picked from submitted applications. This is not a paying position. It is an opportunity for a photo shoot and  earn savings on portraits and albums.

How To Use Your Consultation Visit?

Your getting married. What does that mean....it means doing a lot of leg-work!
You don't need me to tell you that making plans for your wedding day is almost like having a full time job; and for some working women it could feel like two full time jobs! 
 As a wedding photographer I know how easily stressed brides can become as the day approaches.
For this reason I work very closely to ease her mind and catch her dreams and vision for that special day; I offer a free consultation visit for this very purpose. When my bride arrives, she is greeted warmly and invited into my office; on the coffee table I have a variety of soft drinks, tea or wine, awaiting her choice. After the initial meeting we'll begin to discuss the details of her wedding to familiarize ourselves with each others expectations.

That's me tying the gown . Sometimes a photographer has to put down the camera and do the unexpected.

A bride needs to know the photographer's process and style and prices; and be fully acquainted and satisfied with the product line that could become the very first heirlooms they purchase as Mr. and Mrs.

The Girl of His Dreams: A Slideshow

Becki and Steve's Engagement Story: The Girl of His Dreams. Is a romantic story of an ordinary guy daydreaming about the girl every guy hopes to meet, and he does; but is she real or a figment of his imagination?
Please refer to an earlier post of Becki and Steve's Engagement Story for the full details of how the met, where they shared their first kiss and more.
Steve and Becki have set the date when they will exchange nuptials. They have a beautiful late afternoon wedding planned for September 28, 2012, at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort on Singer Island, Fl.

Angel In Studio

When I first started taking college courses in digital photography working in a studio was foreign to me. I was sure before the first class began that studio work was not for me.  Well, after our first assignment I had a new fondness for studio work, I liked the controlled environment.











I liked it so much that the first bit of equipment I bought  to start my business was everything I needed to build my studio. I made my garage my studio.

















I soon understood better all the nay-saying I read about regarding difficulties getting the light ratios right (even though I had a meter), plus lights not firing.  Not all my studio work gave me problems, but when it began to happen I could feel my whole opinion about studio work altering.

This photo shoot was yet another challenge to keeping things simple yet grasping for the technical professional look I'm fond of. I'm a perfectionist, and if any of my readers share that attribute you know how quickly you get bored with the same ole, same ole. So I'm always sprucing things up, and sometimes they can become overwhelming before you know it. But quit, no way. I'm winning, I'm coming out of this victoriously. But easy? Not exactly.






My model, Angel, is just great to work with. She oozes 'sexy', so we tame it back a lot! She takes direction easily even though she's not a professional model.
We started  our photo session with no direction in sight. I took out a few vintage pieces I used for children photography and we just started to shoot. Normally I have everything all planned out because I don't like to shoot in the dark ( no pun intended), but I needed something to develop and I shot until it did.

We had two background changes and two wardrobe changes, we went from paper lanterns to my funky green couch and a stack of books.  I used the contrast of funky everything  to glamorous beauty that Angel provided. We got some pretty good pictures, but when I cut up a pair of black pantyhose to look like sexy stockings, it became harder to keep a wholesome look. And that's where we backed off, that was a road we did not wish to go down. So some pictures will not be seen.

I love what I do, taking ordinary and making it extraordinary.

After The Bridal Show

Sunday's bridal show was fun meeting all the father's that came out to share the day with their daughters. Bravo to all the fathers. And to make Father's Day even more fun for everyone (not me), the venue hosting had the bar opened during the show, (cash bar of course).

So now it's my turn to relax, and I'm doing that right now blogging and sipping, Middle Sister, "Wild One" Malbec. It's a good red wine...light...hmmm...very good.

The Girl of My Dreams

 

Becki and Steve's Engagement.

Some engagement shoots are ordinary, and then there are those that stand out from the crowd, Becki and Steve's is the latter, their engagement session took the turn from ordinary into extraordinary. 

I think the hardest part was thinking up the story line that catches the simplist truth shared by them, while keeping the storyline short and simple. Becki shared with me when they met, shared their first kiss, and where Steve proposed; all the elements necessary for our story.

Steve is a lieutenant in the Army and flies Apache helicopters. Becki is a recent graduate from the nursing program at University of Florida.

There were many angles we could approach to tell their story, but many were eliminated for one reason or another; but the one that seemed to please everyone and fit into the paremeters we set, was our romantic one titled, "The Girl of My Dreams." 

It begins with Steve, who in real life is an avid guitar player, daydreaming of meeting the girl of his dreams. As he strumbs, plays and daydreams, his subconscious  conjures up a mysterious beautiful woman whose face is hidden. 

Is she real or just a figment of his imagination?

When she sees him it's love at first sight.  She's enchanted and mesmerized by the song of his heart that draws her to him.

Becki is also dreaming, gazing out a window on a rainy afternoon draws her thoughts to a distant place with a language all it's own....  It's a divine meeting of hearts that love draws together in real life.
